Henry Louis Gates Jr. arrested,Racism or procedure?

Henry Louis gates jr was arrested at his home in cambridge,Mass.and accused of burglary.Gates entered his home after he got accidently locked out.Sgt.James Crowley who was the arresting officer said he is not sorry at all for wrongfully accusing Gates. He claims that he followed procedure.President Obama stated that he wasn't sure if it was racism but it was stupid of Crowley to arrest Gates even after he proved that he was indeed the homeowner.
Henry Louis Gates Jr. who is a renowned Black Scholar and HARVARD UNIVERSITY Professor still demands an apology.
I personally feel Crowley should apologize for accusing a man of breaking into his own home. This is a touchy issue especially when the race card is pulled.Crowley is a white officer and Gates is Black ! RACISM or Procedure?
