Today marks the annual haitian flag day,206 years ago haitian slaves form an army and broke the chains to emancipate themselves to freedom.But free and independent is obviously not the wave.The country has been in a chokehold since then,from corruption of political figures,to hardly any help from anybody.But this is no telling why the people of Haiti are so strong,because like PRODIGY said "real power is people".I hope everyone is doing the right thing now after the horrible earthquake that happened.One thing i must say,is that when haitian people come together it's SERIOUS!Whether it's a rally/protest or at the West Indian day parade the unity & music is undeniable.
In 1804 Commander in chief general DESSALINES created the very powerful slogan "LIBERTY OR DEATH".That phrase alone,can be very motivating for any rebel or can scare any oppressor.Those words must still ring in our heads and we probably still have that slave blood in our DNA...
