kicks: ADIDAS x RUN DMC 'my adidas' 25th anni


To commemorate 25 years since Run DMC released their hit, “My adidas”, from the group’s 1986 album Raising Hell, adidas Originals presents this limited edition of the iconic Superstar 80s shoe. Featuring special gold “dookie chain” lace locks, three sets of laces and a collectible box, the shoes will see an official release at select stores starting November 11, 2011.

And that’s what makes Scott’s adidas collaborations different than any of the 30 or so sneakers you’ll see scrolling through the blogs on a given day. The make-ups are awesomely puzzling, and each season the designs seem to get more outlandish. Detachable wings? Check. Furry Bear and Panda schemes? Check. It’s been tough to pinpoint exactly what went through Scott’s head when he was in the lab designing…until now. We got with the fashion designer who enjoys pumping products that will help you stand out to tell us what his inspirations were behind some of his standout adidas.
